Charity Quilt Done

I finally managed to get my charity quilt done. I did not have enough fabric to make it as large as I wanted so I added a large strip of Kona Iron at the bottom of the quilt.

My biggest regret is how I quilted it.  I really wanted to outline each layer of the hexagon but I just did not have the time to do it.  I quickly did my meandering loops.  They are okay but I can't stand it at the bottom.  I was going to rip it out but then I reminded myself why I made it in the first place.  If you need a blanket to keep warm you really don't care about the quilting design.

My son had an assignment for his photography class so I took him with me to take pictures.  He took all of the ones shown here.  His original idea was to take all of his pictures in the back yard. (A 5 minute homework assignment in his mind)  We spent most of the afternoon out hiking and enjoying the sunshine.  It was pretty cold but since the sun was out we were both happy and when the day was over he had lots of photographs to choose from.   I am certain he will try to hold some back for his next assignment.

I did manage to trim up my half square triangles and get my quilt top done.  The pattern is Diamond Tread I plan to take my time quilting this one so I am not unhappy with the finished product.

Linking up with Amanda Jean for Finish it up Friday Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict and Sarah at Mila + Cuatro for TGIF  Thanks for stopping by.
